SENIOR ACCOUTANT

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for general accounting, month end closings, financial reporting, financial controls, and cash management for various companies. Possesses both excellent analytical skills and an in-depth knowledge of accounting principles to efficiently analyze financial reports and reconciliations.

Essential Duties

Daily Duties:

  • Bank Deposit Reconciliation to system Posting
  • Process Void/Stop Payments
  • Record bank transactions including deposits, ACH, and wires
  • Record bi-weekly payroll entries
  • Prepare invoices for various businesses
  • Support and response to accounting related inquiry from various business teams
  • Work on ad-hoc projects assigned

 

Month End Duties:

  • Assist in month end reports compilation
  • Prepare sales tax return for various businesses
  • Prepare month end journal entries for various businesses
  • Download monthly bank statements, loan statements, sales reports from various systems.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, inter-company transactions, cash on deposits, credit card & ACH sales receivables, petty cash, Small Ops activities, and other account reconciliations.
  • Prepare quarterly fixed assets and lease schedules.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong organizational and task management skills. Strong relationship management and proven experience delivering high level if internal and external customer service. Computer proficiency with strong skills in Microsoft Office applications. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Proficient in Office 365 products specifically spreadsheet/word, SharePoint, Team, etc. and prefer experience in QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Business Central, and/or similar accounting software applications.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in accounting with some 1-3 years related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must possess the ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos as well as write simple correspondence. Must also be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be proficient with the following: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Must also be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
