September 2012 Agency Spotlight: Herbie Wiles Insurance, St. Augustine, FL

Situated along Florida’s First Coast, St. Augustine is the Nation’s oldest city. This beachfront community, founded in 1565, is home to many historical sites, landmarks and our September Spotlight Agency – Herbie Wiles Insurance.

Herbert L. Wiles opened his agency in 1961 and has served the insurance needs of homeowners in St. Johns and surrounding counties ever since. Herbie’s son, Doug Wiles, joined the company in 1979 and now serves as the company’s president.

The Herbie Wiles Agency has been a Frontline Insurance independent agent since January 2007 and offers our homeowners, dwelling, condo and flood insurance products to their clients. “Frontline has been a great partner in providing insurance protection for so many of our
insureds. Our underwriters are knowledgeable and willing to consider coastal accounts. Along with reasonable premiums, Frontline provides us with the tools needed to meet the needs of some of our insureds,” according to Doug.

The agency prides itself on providing team members with a fun and positive work environment and has been recognized for their efforts. In 2012 Herbie Wiles Insurance was named one of “Florida’s Best Companies to Work For” by Florida Trend Magazine; an honor they received three of the past four years. In 2011, they received an Honorable Mention as “Best Agency of the Year” by Insurance Journal Magazine in a national competition.

The recognition doesn’t stop there! For the past two years, a customer service representative from the Herbie Wiles Agency was named “CSR of the Year” by the CIC Society. Courtney Veston of the Personal Lines Department took the honor this year while Dawn DiMeglio of the Commercial Lines Department held the title in 2011.

Frontline Insurance is proud of the agency’s achievements and their commitment to the St. Augustine community. Many of their employees and owners serve as board members for a number of charitable, non-profit agencies including EPIC (alcohol and drug abuse), the Betty Griffin House (spousal abuse) and the St. Johns County Education Foundation (providing support to local public schools). The agency also provides office space to the Wildflower Clinic which is a free clinic helping the disadvantaged. Several team members recently participated in a local Dodge Ball Tournament for charity and employees pay to dress casual on Wednesday’s with money donated to specific charities.
