Located in Charleston, South Carolina, the Pinckney-Carter Company has in business since the late 1800s. It was originally founded by the great uncle and grandfather of the current owners, Beau, J.D and Cooper Carter, and is now a third-generation full-service, family-owned insurance agency.
The father of the current owners, Fletcher, didn’t just leave the business when he handed it down to his sons, as he continually comes in to check in on the business. In his much deserved free time he enjoys golfing and can be found at his favorite course three times a week.
Having run a successful business for such a long time, the Pinckney-Carter Company has managed to earn itself quite a few awards. Some of these include the CPIW Boss Of The Year award that has been earned twice, IIASC Young Agent Of The Year, Travelers Automation Award, Travelers Personal Lines Achievement Award, Johnson and Johnson Platinum Award, and more! Additionally, several staff members serve on state and local committees for both the IIASC and PIA and volunteer as coaches for the Town of Mt. Pleasant’s basketball, soccer and volley ball teams.
The Pinckney-Carter Company currently has 23 employees and offers their South Carolina clients our coastal homeowners and condominium insurance as well as flood insurance. “With personal lines being our strong suite, it was a good fit to partner with Frontline with their knowledge and understanding of coastal risks. With their partnership, it really helped our agency to grow in the right direction,” according to Beau Carter.

Rarely there is an issue on underwriting or service but if I need someone I can pick up the phone and actually talk to someone right then and there,” said Beau Carter.
When not providing outstanding service to their clients, staff members of the Pinckney-Carter Company enjoy being involved with various community projects and organizations. They partner with the Lowcountry Food Bank to work with Dunston Elementary children to provide funds for the backpack program. They also act as lunch buddies with the kids and participate in many other activities throughout the school year. They also do many other fundraising events, such as their Thanksgiving Food Drive that provides food and financial support for the less fortunate and a “Wear Pink Day” that raises funds for breast cancer awareness.
Being in the business for three generations and offering such great services back to the community, this month’s spotlight was an easy choice. We forward to working with the Pinckney-Carter Company for years to come and are proud to have them as a member of the Frontline Insurance Advisory Board.
